MID-WEEK LENTEN SERVICES

BEGIN ON ASH WEDNESDAY

Tomorrow, 6 February, is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the six-week season of Lent. We will offer a time of food and fellowship, learning and worship.

Enjoy a prepared meal and the company of your church family from 6:00-6:45 p.m. in the Celebration Center. The Deacons have organized to provide the meals, for which a free-will donation will be accepted for the purchase of new choir robes for the St. Paul Singers.

From 6:45-7;30, we will learn and worship in an informal style. Using Sarah Parson’s book, A Clearing Season, we will spend time examining ourselves and discussing what we need to clear away in our lives to make room for God. Our worship will use liturgy and practices from the Celtic tradition. An ancient worship and spiritual tradition which affirms a God who desires and does live among us, this is a most appropriate worship style to use when we are asking ourselves the question, “If God seems far away, who moved?”

Our Mid-Week Lenten services will continue through 12 March, the week before Holy Week. Take a respite mid-week and enjoy the company of one another and God’s presence.
